  17. <p>    To the descendants of the Indians who wiped out George
  18. Custer and his men in 1876, the displays commemorating the
  19. battle of Little Big Horn are gallingly one-sided. In recent
  20. years Indian spokesmen have tried to persuade the Government to
  21. tell more of their side. Newly appointed Custer Battlefield
  22. National Monument superintendent Barbara Booner, the first
  23. Native American to hold the post, may resolve the controversy.
  24. </p>
  25. <p>    Booner plans to invite tribal representatives to help
  26. revise the historical information displayed at the battlefield.
  27. Says Booner: "We will concentrate on the balance of the story,
  28. so that both sides are represented."
